Stealth is quite an under-rated movie. Starring Josh Lucas, Jessica Biel, and Jamie Foxx, this movie is about a stealth fighter jet with artificial intelligence. I know what you are thinking: "How can she possibly even watch such a movie?"

Now before you laugh at me, like the rest of the Collegian staff that was about ready to rip me to shreds for merely suggesting this idea, I must defend myself. Remember: I didn't say it was the best movie in the world-I said it was an under-rated movie. I definitely think it was worth watching.

Being the awkward loser that I am, I stayed inside and watched a ridiculous amount of movies this break. Among the wide selection of DVDs was Stealth.

Now I had watched the previews for this earlier and thought it was a joke, but my dad really wanted to watch it, so we rented it. It was the first time I had ever rented a movie…but that's another story.

So it was about eleven at night when we popped in the movie. My dad, being the gadget-loving Asian that he is, was ooh-ing and ahh-ing at the magnificent special effects.

"Oh dear, a movie about a talking jet, how exciting," I thought as my eyes glazed over. The plane's name was Extreme Deep Invader (EDI) for crying out loud-is this a porno or is it an action flick? The Detour editor definitely wasn't sure about this. However, I soon found myself intrigued as the movie sped into Mach 5.

The nation's three best jet fighters (Lucas, Biel, and Foxx) are the unbreakable trio until EDI joins them as a wingman. With its extensive and fast-learning artificial intelligence, EDI soon becomes determined to destroy targets. Then picking up the defiant attitude of his fellow officers, EDI turns renegade. The plot then turns to a break-neck chase to bring the some-billion-dollar jet back to base.

The excellent special effects and graphics definitely piqued my video-game-obsessed self.

However, still quite attached to my estrogen, I did feel that there could have been more to the emotional side that it attempted.

There were a few down-to-earth (literally and figuratively) moments in the movie, but they did not really speak to my hormones. Conversely, the storyline, while it was not unexpected and extraordinary, was complete and decent.

So perhaps I like this movie as much as I do because I am that typical nerdy Asian majoring in computer science that enjoys role-playing video games. Or maybe it's because I am starting to think that Josh Lucas is kind of cute. All that aside, it's still a complete movie more worthy than its critical ratings.

So if not for the rainy-day-movie sake, at least watch it for its amazing effects, or yummy eye candy, i.e. Jamie Foxx shirtless (Jessica Biel is pretty hot as well).
