Dear Editor,
As the Executive Team for the Bash, we wanted to express our gratitude to the Saint Mary's College community for the overwhelming support they gave us at our show on last Wednesday. In bringing out event, we only had wished to bring a new element to the campus. We wanted to give students another avenue to come together and celebrate themselves.
However, at our event - we failed to mention three very important people who helped us in taking the committment to add their time. Lauren Silva and Chris Olson were an amazing team in putting their work to setting up our reception in Delphine. They also made Soda Center well-fitting for its first Gay Bash. Jenna Zack also proved to be an amazing ally in our event, helping us work out many logisitics to have it become what it was.
We are eternally grateful to them and the rest of the SMC community.

Dear Editor,
Paro Nacional or National Stop is a movement that seeks to add attention to the already hot issue of immigration in the United States. This nation wide movement on May 1st seeks to create awareness by demonstrating the impact of immigrants, specifically Latinos in our country. Overall, people are being asked not to participate in the economy on Monday, May 1st, 2006. This means to avoid purchasing any type of consumer item, to call in sick to work, not go to school and participate in local protest. Millions of people will be partaking on this day, some being threatened of losing their jobs and means of income, just because they are choosing to support something they believe in.
Some will choose not to come to work or attend classes here at SMC next Monday. However, I encourage you to do something more assertive, and provide more awareness on this campus. Since we are privileged with the opportunity to receive our education at this four year institution, I ask you to take part in this movement but with a different approach. Go to class and go to work.. By not attending classes, you will be counter acting the "Paro Nacional" movement, by not receiving the education you deserve.
