Lewis has been the rock of the Saint Mary's pitching staff this season. Head Coach Jed Sato has been able to plug him in anywhere in the pitching staff and he has responded. After beginning the season as the number three starter, Lewis was moved to the closer's position. The results have been astounding. In seventeen games, the senior has a 5-1 record while posting a team low 2.35 era . He has also recorded four saves. Lewis picked up the win in the Gaels' lone in this weekend, while going three innings while allowing no runs and not yielding a hit.
Women's Crew
In a spring season that has seen women's athletics plummet to the bottom of their conferences, the crew team has been one of the pleasant surprises of the season. In their most recent race, each team made a solid showing with the Novice Four winning their heat and the Varsity Four placing second. In the WIRA Championships, both the Varsity and Novice Fours won gold medals and won by an average of five seconds.
