Saint Mary's year in review: The questions, answers, more questions that need to be heard

Here is some helpful advice for my adoring readers.

Why does the Saint Mary's Lasallian Core Principles poster state one of the principles as an inclusive community yet the students in the photograph are all white?

Ever wonder why your favorite Saint Mary's athletic teams are not mentioned on ESPN? Have you ever been to a party on the weekend? There is your answer. Now I am not pre-med, but I am guessing excessive partying cannot be a positive for cardiovascular health and athletic performance…unless of course you are on the rugby team and party as hard as you play-and win. But there is an exception to every rule.

Program Board has the biggest budget for any student run organization on campus and still the majority of students are complaining about Gaelstock. I suggest student voting should be incorporated into next year's selections, at the very least for the opening bands. This would potentially stop whining and engage students. Granted, students do not vote for Senate and class presidents, but doesn't American Idol get more votes than American Presidential elections? With a $73,300 budget ($30,000 for Gaelstock), perhaps Program Board could reevaluate and bring a notable artist to Gaelstock.
